Who are we?
aims + ethos
-
Our aim is to help promote physical, psychological and emotional wellbeing. We hope to reduce common health difficulties and build connection through community.
The Nook Wellbeing and Creative Space is continually exploring ways to bring more community sessions to our local population.
Since Covid there has been reports of an increase in isolation and the impact that this has made on our mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. The Nook Wellbeing & Creative Space aims to encourage group facilitation and interaction, supporting those experiencing poor mental health to improve their lives by re-establishing connection, form new relationships and to feel better.
-
The Nook Wellbeing and Creative space upholds the principles of compassion, respect and dignity to all who engage in our services and the service providers strongly uphold values of equality and inclusion, honouring diversity by welcoming all cultures, ages, genders and ability.
Also included in our company’s core values and ethical practice is to create a coherent underlining promise within our service, to confront and dismantle any oppressive power dynamics within the care giving/service.
Ensuring all services offered at the Nook Wellbeing and Creative Space are in alignment with a trauma- informed approach. That each practioner entering the company and providing a service upholds the respect, autonomy, choices, privacy and confidentiality of every person who decides to enter into our service.
-
The Nook hopes to establish a wealth of support through working together with other Wellbeing Practitioners and investing back into the company to provide a plethora of Wellbeing sessions, courses and content throughout the annual schedule. Inviting in Counsellors, Qi Gong, Tai Chi facilitators and offering Chair Yoga and movement practices for the older population.
